Commission calculator

Add a commission rate on sales to a base salary, and show the commission and the combined pay.

The answer

Commission = sales × rate ÷ 100. Total pay = base pay + commission. A $40,000 base plus 8% of $100,000 in sales is $8,000 of commission and $48,000 altogether.

Result

$8,000.00

Commission

Base plus commission
$48,000.00

How this works

Multiply the sales by the commission rate and divide by 100. Add the base. If the base is zero, the result is commission only. The rate is the one in the offer, typed once.

A tiered plan, a quota that starts the commission, or a chargeback for a returned sale is a different set of inputs. This page applies one rate to the sales figure you enter.

Examples

  • $40,000 base, $100,000 sales, 8%

Commission is $8,000. Total pay is $48,000.

Common mistakes

  • ×

Applying the rate to the base salary instead of the sales.

  • ×

Adding the rate and the sales as if both were dollars.
